At BVMG, we have partnered with Enviro-Stewards to provide a BioSand Filter for families in South Sudan and other affected areas. The technology behind the BioSand Filter is simple yet effective. For each project we do, we donate a BioSand Filter to supply enough water for 10 families. You will receive a certificate for a Sustainability Credit.
Each Sustainability Credit provides more than 5000 gallons of safe drinking water to families and communities in South Sudan and avoids at least 3 tons of Greenhouse Gas emissions (and deforestation) that would otherwise be needed to boil a portion of this water to make it safe to drink.
The water and carbon credits are verified by Enviro-Stewards and reviewed by Water Plan (water credits) and Kuzuka (voluntary carbon credits), respectively. All of the funds received from the sale of sustainability credits are used to pay for time & expenses associated with initiating and maintaining sustainable development projects. Accounting of these funds is verified by Enviro-Steward’s Accountant.
